Managed a new beauty concept for the Far East market for an international brand. Included workshops in Seoul and Tokyo, developing store & shop-in shop concepts, graphic communications & design of an app for online engagement. Providing a blueprint for local implementation.

  • Design and planning of retail spaces of all types, from shop-in-shop to large format, often re-using existing elements whilst integrating new areas or features.

  • Planning and Detail Design for a large DIY store and garden centre, introducing a new  ‘showroom’ style to encourage more female customers and create a more departmental approach.

Helping transform the colleague experience by improving back of house/work facilities. By understanding the colleague journey and creating an impactful environment to engage, motivate and energise the team.

 

Example:

Led the re-design of BOH for a large fashion retailer, forming new open-plan facilities that improved communication, passion & pride.

 

Result:  Their “Most successful colleague programme.” 82% felt more valued, advocacy up 40%, absenteeism down 300%

  • Design leadership – External Multidisciplinary Team

Overseeing design within the external team (project manager, architect, brand design, lighting, V/M) to maintain the creative vision and agreed design principles.

 

Example:

Led the re-design/re-positioning of a flagship department store -  2 year programme working with architect, ad agency, V/M, shop-fitter and other disciplines.

Modelling the optimum customer journey to create a joined-up brand experience. Taking account of research & findings to form a seamless journey, identifying opportunities and brand touch points.

 

Example:

Worked with a luxury boat company to understand stages of brand consideration/ product selection/purchase to evolve a journey that informed components and brand narrative for their showroom design.

  • Flexible Design Service

Providing a staged and flexible approach to design, input targeted on individual elements through to conceptualising new formats or a complete new store design.

 

Example:

Working with a video games retailer, solutions were created to resolve specific problems ie queue busting at peak times, improving the service desk, customer flow etc. Followed by designing their ‘Store of the Future’ at Westfield.
